Drea also admitted that she “laughs about” her OnlyFans subscribers’ “weird” requests with her kids.
Last year, Emmy-winning actor Drea de Matteo revealed that she had launched an OnlyFans account after her refusal to have the COVID-19 vaccine apparently saw her acting opportunities dry up.
In February, the Sopranos and Sons of Anarchy alum said that this decision ended up saving her and her family from financial ruin.
In fact, Drea said that despite having just $10 in her bank account before joining the adult site, she made all of the money that she needed to save her home within five minutes of signing up.
Speaking in a video interview with the Daily Mail, Drea explained: “They put me into foreclosure, and my house had flooded, so I was trying to sell the house quickly. At the same time, I lost my mom, and my other mom, who has dementia, had run out of money for her caregiver. I didn’t know which way was up.”
“I kept putting more pictures up,” she recalled of the day that she joined. “I was like, holy shit.”
“OnlyFans saved my life, 100 percent. I can’t believe I’m saying that, but it really did save us,” Drea added. “Anybody that wants to condemn me and put me down, go for it. I just hope you never find yourself in the position I was in to take care of two little kids. It saved my home of many years that was very important to us.”
Drea also admitted that she had initially been reluctant to join the platform, and that she and her partner originally planned to use it for a podcast idea that they anticipated would be so “controversial” they wanted to keep it behind a paywall so as not to be “destroyed in the media for it.”
“That was what it was going to be originally, you know, like with him rubbing my feet because you have to add a little something for OnlyFans in there,” she said at the time.
And in a recent appearance on her former Sopranos co-stars, Robert Iler and Jamie-Lynn Sigler’s, podcast, Not Today, Pal, Drea revealed that while her own podcast idea never got off the ground, her OnlyFans account is still a family affair.
Discussing her “really fucking racy” content, which includes sexy photos and videos of herself, the 52-year-old star explained that she had recently started to pursue girl-on-girl content for her subscribers.
Realizing that her kids could hear the entire conversation on the other side of the door, Drea quickly apologized to them. The star is mom to 13-year-old Waylon, who goes by the nickname “Blackjack,” and 16-year-old Alabama.
After Robert and Jamie-Lynn asked to see some of her recent photos, Drea went into detail about the “girl-on-girl collabs” as she happily scrolled through her phone to give them a sneak peek — confirming that she wouldn’t show them ones that she is fully naked in.
While scrolling, she acknowledged: “Blackjack and Alabama, my kids are out there, I’m sorry guys. I’m really sorry… But they know.”
But Robert immediately interjected, telling Drea: “Before you start, your son was outside saying he edits your OnlyFans photos! So you don’t have to apologize to them, I don’t think.”
Drea then confirmed that what Blackjack had told Robert is true, laughing as she explained: “Oh yeah, he’s like: ‘So what do you want me to do with the bikini line here?’”
“But they don’t see the girl shots,” she then clarified. “I do go over that with them before I ever put them out. I’m always like: ‘Are you OK with this?’”
“It’s like if I were to do it in a movie, because I would make out with girls in movies all day long,” Drea then pointed out. “Before I’d even make out with boys.”
She then proudly showed the hosts one of Blackjack’s edits, before admitting that she also laughs about some of her subscriber requests with her children.
“When people want, like, a three-minute feet video — to me, that’s weird,” she said. “When they give you a time for the video. Me and my son, the kids, we laugh about that shit, y’know? It’s so weird.”
Elsewhere on the podcast, Drea, Robert, and Jamie-Lynn reminisced over 25 years of The Sopranos, which premiered in 1999.
