See Unearthed Video of an 11-Year-Old Kate Middleton Singing in ‘My Fair Lady’

A video of a young Kate Middleton is making the rounds, proving that Prince Louis got that knack for performing somewhere! The video shows the 11-year-old future Princess of Wales singing “Wouldn’t It Be Lovely” from the Lerner and Loewe musical My Fair Lady during a production at St. Andrew’s School. She attended the school in the late 1980s and early 1990s.

It’s hard to deny how charming Kate’s performance is.

Kate played the lead character, Eliza Doolittle, a flower seller who is taught to become a refined society woman. The role was famously played by Julie Andrews on Broadway and Audrey Hepburn in the movie version of the musical.

In the clip, Kate can be seen singing the character’s main song, “Wouldn’t It Be Lovely” in her best impression of a Cockney accent, which is quite a feat for a tween.

Dressed in the character’s signature black dress and wearing a tattered shawl, Kate stands amongst her classmates as they dance around her.

The video has made the rounds before.

While the video was filmed in 1993, this isn’t the first time it has circulated online. The first time it was shared was back in 2014, and then five years later, it made the rounds again … but now that it’s going viral again, it’s giving even more people the chance to check out Kate’s impressive performance.

Fans called the video ‘lovely.’

In 2019, the Instagram page Teatime With The Wales shared the clip, and it has gotten over 60,000 views since. Commenters seemed to really enjoy seeing Kate’s life before she became a royal.

“Big fan of kids doing musical theatre even when they aren’t royals!” one person wrote. “She did a great job!”

Another added, “fabulous and only 11 years old!!”

The princess is multi-talented.

In addition to her starring in school plays, Kate also played the flute, the piano, and was a member of the school’s chorus, and was even in a senior flute group called the “Tootie-Flooties.” Has anyone told Lizzo about this?!

She is also a skilled piano player. Those who follow the royals know that she played piano during a Christmas Eve broadcast from Westminster Abbey in 2021, and during Liverpool’s Eurovision broadcast in May 2023.

It wouldn’t be surprising if at least one of her children followed in her theatrical footsteps.

And if we had to guess, our money is on Prince Louis — the cheeky 5-year-old already seems to love being in the spotlight, so we have a feeling he would truly thrive on stage with all eyes on him!

We’ll have to see what the future holds. If he needs audition tips, his mom can help him out.
