Prince Louis Entertains the Crowd & Steals the Spotlight at King’s Birthday Celebrations

All eyes were on the youngest child of Prince William and Kate Middleton once again following his attendance at a public royal event. Prince Louis joined his family to celebrate his grandfather, King Charles, at his first official royal birthday parade.

And in true Louis fashion, the young prince put on a show.

Louis was joined by his two siblings, Prince George and Princess Charlotte, as they rode in the horse-drawn carriage from Buckingham Palace to the Horse Guards Parade as part of the annual Trooping the Colour events.

The royal kids sat opposite their mom, Kate, and their step-grandmother, Queen Camilla. Prince William participated in the procession on horseback, joining King Charles, Princess Anne, and Prince Edward.

Prince Louis didn’t like the smell of the horses.

There is often a clean-up crew who follows behind the parade procession to “remove any traces of the horses taking part,” according to People. Hopefully, Louis didn’t have to smell it for too long.

Following the carriage ride, the royals gathered at Buckingham Palace.

During Trooping the Colour, after the carriage ride, the family heads to the balcony of Buckingham Palace to watch a flypast aerial display.

On the balcony, King Charles and Queen Camilla were joined by Sir Timothy Lawrence, Princess Anne, the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh, plus the royal kids and their parents.

Louis looked to be having a great time.

Watching the planes overhead, the prince entertained the crowd by reacting to the loud planes overhead and making adorable faces.

He threw his fists into the hair, saluted the crowd, looked bored and confused, covered his ears, squished his cheeks, and more.

Of course, all of this is typical for a 5-year-old, and Louis has been one to lighten the mood with his playful nature since partaking in more royal outings.

We hope he had a good time — it sure looks like he did!
