His rep said he’s “fine” now.
Zac Efron was reportedly hospitalized this weekend after suffering a swimming incident in Ibiza.
His rep told People the actor, 36, was using a pool at a villa on Friday when the incident occurred.
While they didn’t share exact details of what happened, the rep described it as a “minor” accident.
They said Zac was simply hospitalized for “precautionary measures” before being released the next day. “He is fine,” the rep added.
Recently, the High School Musical star was in Paris for the 2024 Olympics. Last week, he posted an excited selfie to Instagram as he arrived to watch the opening ceremony. He also supported Simone Biles after her big win with Team USA on Tuesday, saying he was “incredibly proud” of her.
People reports that Zac later traveled to Spain to make an appearance with DJ Martin Garrix at the Ushuaïa Ibiza Beach Hotel. Video from the event showed him dancing onstage with Garrix as the crowd cheered.
As of writing, Zac hasn’t commented on the swimming accident, but BuzzFeed has reached out to his reps for comment. We’ll let you know if we get a response.
